INVESTMENT IN CAPE VERDE

 
Cape Verde offers many opportunities for businesses in a broad range of sectors, namely tourism, renewable energy, construction and telecommunications. It also boasts several free trade zones which provide eligible companies with a 5 year tax exemption period. With a warm and sunny climate, privileged geographic situation, economic and political stability, and incentives for foreign investment, Cape Verde is an excellent prospect.

REQUIREMENTS

The following companies can be incorporated in Cape Verde.

“Sociedade Anónima” or Corporation/ Public limited company
  • The minimum share capital for an SA is €22,673 (2.500.000 CVE).
  •  At least 10% of the share capital must be paid out in a bank account before the company is incorporated and 30% must be paid out afterwards. The remainder must be paid out in the next 5 years. 
  •  A minimum of ten shareholders is required.

“Sociedade por quotas” or LLC/ Private limited company
  • The minimum share capital for LDA is €1,814 (200.000 CVE)
  •  At least 10% of the share capital must be paid out in a bank account before the company is incorporated and 50% afterwards. In this case each shareholder is entitled to subscribe 50% of his/her total shares and the remainder must be paid out in the next 3 years.
  • One shareholder is enough to incorporate this type of company.
