INVEST IN MOZAMBIQUE



Mozambique, essentially an agriculture-based economy, has emerged as a rapid reformer in recent years. The geographic position of the country in relation to neighbouring landlocked countries and regions, the significant improvement of relations between Portugal and Mozambique, an expanding industrial sector and a better climate for investors are playing an important role in its economy.

REQUIREMENTS

The following companies can be incorporated in Mozambique.
“Sociedade Anónima” or SA
· There is no minimum share capital defined legally.
· A minimum of three shareholders is required.
· Managed by one Director or a board of Directors

“Sociedade por quotas” or  LDA
· There is no minimum share capital defined legally.
· Minimum of one shareholder and maximum of 30 shareholders. Two shareholders is recommended.
· Managed by one or more managers.

All non-resident foreigners require a visa to enter Mozambique. Investors should keep in mind that no activity can be undertaken with a tourist visa. If the local company wants to hire a non-resident foreign an authorisation from the Ministry of Labour has to be applied for previously.
