According to the draft
bill that will reform Spanish Registries, applicants wishing to acquire Spanish citizenship will have to pass an official language test. Acquisition of
citizenship through residency will be partly amended, as applicants will pledge
allegiance to the Constitution by means of a notarized document. The
Authorities hope this new procedure will shorten present delays.
